Senior Eye Health
At Nevada Eye & Ear Senior eye health is all about you. In the past, when you thought about Senior Eye Health you thought about treating cataracts. Now with the active life-styles of todays younger seniors, it is about looking forward to good vision for a lifetime and we believe that quality of sight depends on regular visits to your Ophthalmologist.
The physicians and staff of Nevada Eye & Ear have helped thousands of people enjoy better vision and have the experience to diagnosis and treat a wide range of diseases and conditions. They care about the quality of your vision and know the importance of the early detection of Glaucoma, Cataract and Macular Degeneration.
Technology
At Nevada Eye & Ear our patients continuously tell us that they appreciate our commitment to providing the best technology and state-of-the-art diagnosis equipment that is available today.
We are among the few practices that have the SLT (Selectra Glaucoma Laser System) on site. SLT uses an advanced laser system to target specific cells of the eyes to decrease or eliminate the use of medicines. As a result, your bodies own healing response helps lower the pressure in your eyes.
Also unique to our practice is the OCT (Optical CoherenceTomography) system. The data that this device provides have helped us to diagnose manage and monitor various pathologies. Using the OCT provides direct, real-time, cross-sectional views of the retinal layers, which allows computer reconstruction of the underlying tissue. In addition to the OCT, Nevada Eye & Ear also has the HRT 11 (Heidelberg Retina Tomograph) system, which is used for early glaucoma detection and automatic progression analysis.
To compliment the OCT and HRT, Nevada Eye & Ear has recently installed the Cannon Eye Q Fundus Imaging System. The Eye Q system examines the entire retina including the nerve fiber layer and the optic disk. With the Eye Q there is no image/information loss, minimizing the chances of missing early pathology, especially subtle retinal changes.
Surgery
Most of our surgeries are performed at the Stone Creek Surgery Center with preoperative and postoperative care conveniently provided at any of the Nevada Eye & Ear Office Centers. This state-of-the-art facility provides surgeons and patients alike a modern and patient friendly environment, offering current technology and instrumentation. It is fully accredited through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Heath Care (AAAHC) and licensed by the State of Nevada and the Federal Medicare Program.
